Job summary

Maximus in the UK is seeking a Nurse Functional Assessor to apply clinical expertise and assess how a disability or health condition affects daily living.

You will handle complex cases across physical and mental health, produce Work Capability Assessment reports for DWP, and receive tailored training with ongoing support.

Qualifications

• Valid NMC registration number.
• At least 1 year of broad post-registration adult or mental health experience.
• Right to work in the UK – sponsorships not available.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Comfortable using computer software to type and produce detailed reports.

Responsibilities

• Conduct telephone, video or face-to-face assessments to understand impact on daily life.
• Produce Work Capability Assessment (WCA) reports for DWP eligibility decisions.
• Develop clinical knowledge with regular feedback and supervision.
