Job summary

iGo Recruitment is seeking a Registered Nurse Functional Assessor for a permanent hybrid role in Watford. The position focuses on Work Capability Assessments, with a clear emphasis on assessment and report writing rather than hands-on nursing.

Responsibilities include structured assessments, gathering evidence, and producing concise, evidence-based reports for government review. Training provided; flexible part-time options may be considered. Salary is £50,000 per year.

Responsibilities

• Complete structured assessments, review supporting evidence and produce clear, evidence-based reports for the Department for Work and Pensions.
• This is an assessment and report-writing role rather than a hands-on nursing position.
• Explore how a physical or mental health condition affects a person’s functional capability for work or work-related activity.
• Assessments may take place by telephone, online video appointment or face-to-face at the Watford assessment centre.
• Gather accurate information through structured questioning, apply clinical knowledge and professional judgement, and produce clear, concise and evidence-based reports.
• You will not provide hands-on care, prescribe or deliver treatment, make medical diagnoses, provide medical advice or make the final decision on benefit entitlement.
