Job summary

Maximus UK is seeking a Nurse Functional Assessor in Birkenhead. This full-time role operates Monday to Friday, 09:00–17:00, with hybrid working options. Starting salary is £42,000.

As a Nurse Functional Assessor, you will assess how health conditions affect daily living and prepare PIP or WCA reports for the Department for Work and Pensions. A tailored training programme and ongoing support are provided.

Qualifications

• NMC registration valid and current.
• Minimum 1 year post-registration adult or mental health experience.
• Right to work in the UK (no sponsorship).

Responsibilities

• Conduct telephone, video, or in-person assessments to understand how a health condition affects daily living.
• Produce PIP or WCA reports for DWP to determine eligibility for benefits.
• Receive ongoing training and supervision to develop clinical assessment skills.
