Job summary

Gloucestershire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is offering a Nurse Degree Apprentice (Step On), Band 4, on a full-time secondment lasting 18 months. NDAs remain Gloucestershire Hospitals employees, travel to university campuses for academic days and placements, with an interview date on 4 December.

The role requires completing placements, meeting PAD requirements, and engaging with university and HEI colleagues. Experienced staff will mentor and assess throughout the programme.

Qualifications

• Nursing Associate with NMC registration and related competencies.
• Knowledge of the Nurse Degree Apprenticeship and its expectations.
• Recognition of the change in role from Nursing Associate to Registered Nurse.
• Good communication with patients, relatives and care professionals.
• Commitment to evidence-based practice to improve patient care.
• Able to participate in reflective practice and clinical discussions.

Responsibilities

• Support learning through supernumerary Student Nurse Placements.
• Fulfil requirements of National Apprenticeship Standards.
• Communicate effectively with health and care providers.
• Adapt to the workload and patient contact demands.
• Engage in reflective practice and clinical discussions.
• Develop practical and theoretical nursing skills.
• Participate in service learning and evidence-based projects.
• Undertake clinical tasks within competency during placements.
