Job summary

Healthcare Homes Group is recruiting a dedicated nurse for Home Close, our well-run nursing home near Cambridge. You will deliver person-centred care, support residents’ physical and emotional needs, and contribute to detailed care plans and risk assessments.

With current NMC registration and a good grasp of MCA/DoLs, you will lead with compassion, supervise junior staff, document medication administration, and support admissions and discharges.

Qualifications

• Current NMC registration and practicing nurse within the UK.
• Experience writing detailed care plans including risk assessments.
• Understanding of MCA/DoLs and regulatory frameworks.

Responsibilities

• Provide support and care to residents, meeting physical and psychological needs.
• Administer, document, and order prescribed medication.
• Support new admissions and discharges of residents.
• Attend weekly GP rounds.
• Maintain and update resident care plans and liaise with external parties.
• Coach and develop care team to maintain high standards.

We provide person-centred nursing, residential, respite and dementia care. We have a specialist nursing team and the whole team always work to provide varied and engaging activities and compassionate care centred by respect, dignity and choice.

What would a typical day look like?

• + Provide support and care to our residents, meeting their physical and psychological needs
• + Administration, documentation and ordering of prescribed medication
• + Support with new admissions and discharges of residents
• + Weekly GP rounds
• + Updating and maintaining resident care plans, liaising with external parties where applicable
• + Coaching, supporting and developing our care team to deliver a high standard of care at all times

Our nursing team are the backbone of our home and it is essential that our team have current NMC registrations, up to date knowledge of clinical practices and experience in writing detailed care plans including risk assessments and diet plans. A good understanding of regulatory frameworks including MCA/DoLs is also required.

As part of our commitment to our nursing community, you will be provided with a thorough induction and training programme to further develop your skills along with the support and guidance of a well-established clinical training team.
