Job summary

Healthcare Homes Holdings Limited is seeking a dedicated nurse for Alexandra Care Home in Hemel Hempstead. The role offers a competitive hourly rate, with nights available, and supports the delivery of high-quality residential and nursing care.

The successful candidate will join a team focused on compassionate, person-centred care, maintaining detailed care plans, administering medications, and collaborating with GPs. Induction and ongoing training are provided.

Alexandra is centrally located within the town of Hemel Hempstead in Hertfordshire, and provides residential care, nursing care, care for under 65s, and care for people living with dementia. The home prides itself on its excellent eating experience and special dietary requirements can easily be accommodated.

What would a typical day look like?

• Provide support and care to our residents, meeting their physical and psychological needs
• Administration, documentation and ordering of prescribed medication
• Support with new admissions and discharges of residents
• Weekly GP rounds
• Updating and maintaining resident care plans, liaising with external parties where applicable
• Coaching, supporting and developing our care team to deliver a high standard of care at all times

Our nursing team are the backbone of our home and it is essential that our team have current NMC registrations, up to date knowledge of clinical practices and experience in writing detailed care plans including risk assessments and diet plans. A good understanding of regulatory frameworks including MCA/DoLs is also required.

As part of our commitment to our nursing community, you will be provided with a thorough induction and training programme to further develop your skills along with the support and guidance of a well-established clinical training team.
