Job summary

AVEVA is seeking a Mathematical Developer to join our Unified Supply Chain team in Cambridge. You will contribute to maintenance and enhancement of numerical models and their code, working on desktop applications with legacy components.

You'll apply strong mathematics, implement algorithms in C/C++ or C#, and collaborate across disciplines. The role offers hybrid working in the Cambridge area and opportunities to mentor others as projects grow.

Qualifications

Strong mathematical background and problem-solving abilities.
Experience in numerical modelling or mathematical software development.
Degree in Mathematics, Applied Mathematics, Physics, Computer Science, Engineering or a related discipline.

Responsibilities

Contribute to maintenance and improvement of numerical models and their code.
Investigate mathematical, algorithmic and software engineering problems and implement solutions.
Take ownership of large or technically challenging work items and plan delivery.
Work within a legacy codebase, balancing stability with improvements.
Provide guidance, coaching and mentoring to less experienced developers where appropriate.
