Job summary
St Joseph’s Specialist Trust in Cranleigh is seeking an enthusiastic Higher Level Teaching Assistant to deliver targeted numeracy interventions. You will work with the Mathematics team to help students build confidence and achieve learning goals through structured numeracy sessions.
The role requires a Mathematics degree or equivalent experience and either HLTA status or suitable experience for an unqualified HLTA appointment.
Qualifications
- Math degree or equivalent relevant mathematical knowledge and experience.
- Qualified HLTA status, or the skills and experience appropriate for an unqualified HLTA appointment.
- Ability to explain mathematical concepts clearly and adapt learning to different abilities.
- Experience working with autistic students is desirable but not required.
- Consider commute to Cranleigh due to semi-rural location.
Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver targeted numeracy activities and interventions.
- Explain mathematical concepts clearly and adapt teaching to individual needs.
- Monitor progress and adjust interventions to support achievement.
- Collaborate with colleagues to provide accessible numeracy provision.
- Deliver numeracy sessions up to Functional Skills Level 2 with a personalised approach.
