Job summary

St Joseph's Specialist Trust in Cranleigh, Surrey, seeks a Higher Level Teaching Assistant to deliver targeted numeracy interventions up to Functional Skills Level 2. You will work with students individually and in small groups, under the supervision of the Assistant Head for Mathematics.

The role requires a mathematics degree or equivalent experience, HLTA status (or suitable transferable skills), and a patient, adaptable approach to diverse learning needs.

Qualifications

A mathematics degree or equivalent mathematical knowledge and experience.
Qualified HLTA status, or transferable HLTA skills.
Strong resilience to support pupils with complex needs.
Ability to explain maths clearly and adapt to ability levels.
Good communication, organisation and teamwork.

Responsibilities

Deliver targeted numeracy interventions up to Functional Skills Level 2.
Run structured sessions with individuals and small groups.
Collaborate with the Maths lead to develop personalised plans.
Provide monitoring and progression reports.
