Job summary

St Joseph's Specialist Trust in Cranleigh is seeking a Higher Level Teaching Assistant to deliver targeted numeracy interventions and support students up to Functional Skills Level 2. The role involves planning engaging sessions and adapting approaches for learners with diverse needs, including autism spectra considerations.

You will work part-time or full-time (minimum three days per week), with term-time hours and INSET days, and join a dedicated team committed to enabling student success and

Qualifications

• Mathematics degree or equivalent relevant mathematical knowledge and experience.
• Qualified HLTA status, or the skills and experience appropriate for an unqualified HLTA appointment.
• Ability to explain mathematical concepts clearly and adapt learning to different abilities.
• Confidence delivering structured numeracy sessions to individuals and groups up to Functional Skills Level 2.
• Strong communication, organisation and teamwork skills.
• Patience, flexibility and an encouraging approach to overcoming barriers to learning.
• Experience working with autistic students is desirable.

Responsibilities
