Job summary

Babcock is seeking a Technical Author at our Devonport Royal Dockyard site to support safe delivery of radioactive waste management operations. You will research, develop and maintain controlled documentation that enables critical activities while ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, collaborating with engineers, subject matter experts and operational teams.

Qualifications

• BTEC Level 3 qualification (or equivalent) in a relevant STEM discipline.
• Recognised apprenticeship in a relevant STEM discipline, or equivalent experience.
• Relevant engineering experience.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain technical procedures and documentation supporting radioactive waste management activities.
• Collaborate with engineers, subject matter experts and operational teams to gather and validate technical information.
• Provide technical support for work planning, scheduling and cost-estimation activities.
• Conduct onsite reviews to ensure documentation remains accurate, current and fit for purpose.
• Perform quality assurance reviews to ensure compliance with regulatory, contractual and safety requirements.
