Mitie Group plc. is seeking an on‑site Security Officer to manage daily security operations and act as the first point of contact for the security team.

You will oversee training, handovers, and adherence to Assignment Instructions, ensuring high standards of discipline, conduct, and customer liaison at all times. The role requires strong English communication, reliability, and the ability to work without supervision, with a focus on maintaining secure access control, CCTV, and alarm systems

Qualifications

• SIA Licence or SIA licence holders preferred.
• SC clearance desirable.
• Good literacy and communication skills with excellent English (verbal and written).
• Proficient with computers and standard software.
• Reliable, self‑motivated and able to work without supervision.
• Strong problem solving and prioritisation abilities.
• Diplomatic and able to interact with staff at all levels.
• Record of attendance and timekeeping is essential.

Responsibilities

• Be responsible for the day‑to‑day operation of Security.
• Serve as the first point of contact for the Security team on site.
• Assist in ongoing training of resident security teams and inductions.
• Develop teamwork and maintain high morale within the workforce.
• Assist in reviewing Security Officers’ performance and development.
• Support security/equipment investigations (thefts, missing items, complaints).
• Provide customer/client liaison as required.
• Ensure Assignment Instructions are adhered to by security and shipping personnel.
• Communicate important messages via Security Handover.
• Maintain up‑to‑date security records/logs.
• Ensure compliance with data protection legislation.
