Job summary

Babcock International invites you to join a five‑year Process and Plant Engineer Degree Apprenticeship at Devonport, Europe’s largest naval base. You’ll work toward a BEng in Professional Engineering while contributing to nuclear process systems and plant equipment that support submarine maintenance.

You’ll study at Aston University through a block-release model, rotate through Design Delivery, Safety, Operations, and more, and gain practical training with on‑site placements and mentoring.

Qualifications

• GCSE Maths and English at grade 4 or above.
• Three A‑levels at CCC or above, including a maths-based and a STEM subject, or equivalent STEM-related BTEC at DMM or above.

Responsibilities

• Support engineering design and technical assurance activities in a nuclear environment.
• Produce and check design documentation, perform engineering calculations and analyses.
• Complete placements across Devonport teams and develop skills with mentoring from experienced engineers.
