Job summary

Assystem UK Ltd is seeking a Layout Integration Engineer to own and drive integrated plant layouts across Fusion and Modular Nuclear programmes, including SMRs, AMRs and Fusion projects. You will coordinate multidisciplinary design, piping layout, and CAD/BIM deliverables to ensure safe, operable and maintainable installations.

Key responsibilities include leading layout development, managing interfaces, and performing model reviews in a high‑integrity, safety‑critical environment.

Qualifications

• Degree in Mechanical Eng or related field.
• Experience with plant layout, piping design and multidisciplinary projects.
• Experience in nuclear, power, defence, submarine or oil & gas environments.
• Proficient in CAD/BIM tools: E3D, PDMS, Plant 3D, NX, Revit, Inventor.
• Experience with Navisworks or equivalent review software.
• Ability to interpret PFDs and P&IDs.
• SC Clearance or eligible for clearance.

Responsibilities

• Own layout development for assigned systems, buildings or plant areas.
• Develop integrated equipment, piping, cable tray, access and maintenance layouts.
• Interpret and apply PFDs, P&IDs, equipment data sheets and constraints.
• Coordinate design activities across multiple engineering disciplines.
• Develop layouts within 3D CAD/BIM environments.
• Lead piping routing studies and plant integration activities.
