Job summary

Assystem is seeking a Layout Integration Engineer to deliver integrated plant layouts for Fusion, Modular Nuclear, SMR and AMR programs. You will develop layouts across concept to detailed design, coordinating with Process, Mechanical, Electrical, Civil and Systems disciplines to ensure safe, constructable, operable and maintainable plant arrangements.

You will drive layout development, manage interfaces, and lead workshops to resolve clashes while ensuring compliance with safety and project

Qualifications

• Bachelor or higher degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline, or equivalent industrial experience.
• Experience in plant layout, piping design, or multidisciplinary engineering projects.
• Experience in nuclear, power generation, defence, submarine, oil & gas, or complex process environments.
• Experience using CAD/BIM tools such as E3D, PDMS, Plant 3D, Siemens NX, Revit, Inventor or similar.
• Experience with Navisworks or equivalent model review software.
• Ability to interpret PFDs and P&IDs and manage interfaces and design constraints.

Responsibilities

• Own layout development for assigned systems, buildings or plant areas.
• Develop integrated equipment, piping, cable tray, access and maintenance layouts.
• Interpret and apply PFDs, P&IDs and equipment data sheets.
• Capture and manage design assumptions, constraints and interfaces.
• Develop layouts within 3D CAD/BIM environments.
• Lead piping routing studies and plant integration activities.
• Act as the primary layout focal point for assigned work packages.
• Lead multidisciplinary workshops and layout reviews.
• Identify clashes and drive their resolution.
• Produce general arrangements, layout studies and engineering deliverables.
• Author technical reports and engineering recommendations.
• Present solutions to stakeholders.
• Support modularisation and construction assessments.
