Vulcain Engineering, an international engineering consultancy, seeks an experienced Mechanical Engineer for a large, regulated project in the UK nuclear sector. You will interface with site contractors and design teams to support safe, compliant project execution and oversee mechanical design decisions.

Responsibilities include handling contractor queries, carrying out safety/environmental assessments, and coordinating with multiple disciplines to mitigate risks while maintaining strong

Qualificações

• Degree (or equivalent) in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
• Experience in system design, mechanical design, installation and/or commissioning.
• Experience applying multi-disciplinary engineering knowledge in highly regulated environments.
• Knowledge of construction and installation activities on large-scale projects.
• Understanding of Health & Safety legislation, including CDM and Nuclear Site Licence requirements.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills in a site-based environment.
• Ability to work independently, take initiative, and report issues proactively.

Responsabilidades

• Act as a key technical interface for mechanical queries from site contractors.
• Provide engineering oversight to ensure compliance with nuclear safety and environmental regulations.
• Support the integrated project team through technical assessment and resolution of contractor queries.
• Carry out nuclear safety and environmental assessments and categorisation of engineering queries.
• Review design and engineering decisions to align with project strategy.
• Coordinate input from other engineering disciplines and external organisations.
• Contribute to resolution of technical open points and manage technical risks.
• Maintain relationships with the Responsible Designer and wider engineering stakeholders.
