Job summary

Cavendish Nuclear offers a 5-year Mechanical Engineering Degree Apprenticeship in Humberside, starting September 2027. You’ll study at the University of Nottingham for a BEng (Hons) in Electro-mechanical Engineering while gaining hands-on experience across nuclear projects in the UK.

Initial shadowing, then increasing responsibilities across design, modelling, calculations, and documentation to support safe and reliable systems.

Qualifications

• 5 GCSEs at grade 4 (C) or above including Maths English and Science.
• 104 UCAS points with Maths and Physics or STEM subject (A Levels).
• BTEC Extended Diploma: DMM in Engineering (Maths units).
• Access course: 104 points with Maths/Physics or STEM (Merit).
• IB Diploma: 104 points with Higher Level Maths/Physics or STEM.
• T Level: Merit with Maths and Physics.
• IELTS: 6.0 overall with no component <5.5.

Responsibilities

• Work with CAD to develop 3D models and drawings.
• Carry out mechanical calculations and engineering documentation.
• Support design teams and resolve technical issues.
• Contribute to obsolescence management and FEA usage.
