Job summary

KAEFER UK & Ireland is recruiting Coatings Operatives for the Hinkley Point C project on a permanent contract. You will apply coating systems, prepare surfaces and work to HPC safety standards within a nuclear/construction setting.

Role requires responsibility for using access equipment, following procedures, and maintaining quality checks on coatings and environmental readings. On-site work at HPC offers ongoing stability and career development.

Qualifications

• Experience in nuclear or construction environments is desirable.
• Able to follow instructions amid changing workload demands.
• Proactive team contributor with collaborative approach.
• Demonstrates integrity, openness and teamwork.
• HSE Operatives Test or CCNSG can be obtained through HPC clearance.
• Train the Painter, OPITO or iCATS certificates (Bronze level) are essential.
• Minimum of 1 year in coatings, blasting or spraying.
• Valid UK driving licence is required.
• PASMA certificate for access tower work is preferred.
• CCNSG or CITB HSE Test for Operatives is required.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate surface preparation methods and apply coating systems.
• Work in line with site HSE requirements and safety standards.
• Safely use access equipment, scaffolding and MEWPs.
• Carry out surface prep using hand/mechanical methods and blasting basics.
• Apply coating systems including single-pack and two-pack paints.
• Use brush/roller and prepare spray equipment as needed.
• Support QC with wet/dry film thickness checks and readings.
