Severfield is seeking a Coatings Operative (HPC) to apply protective coatings to the correct specification on the Hinkley Point C project. You will ensure blast profile and surface cleanliness meet the required standard while applying coatings with the right equipment.

This role requires a minimum of two years’ experience in a similar industry and relevant coatings qualifications. Severfield offers competitive salaries and a comprehensive benefits package and a chance to work on landmark

Nuclear & Infrastructure –

Our Nuclear & Infrastructure division has extensive experience in the specialist, highly regulated nuclear, transport (road and rail), process industries and power and energy sectors. Providing award winning design teams, utilising state-of-the-art design software and Tekla detailing facilities to offer customers value engineering. This gives a mix of proven success along with modern, innovative design and fabrication ideas to be able to provide a quality, specialised service to a growing market. Vacancy Details

The purpose of this role is to apply protective coatings to the correct specification and using the correct products.

Main Duties

• Check steel adequate from blast profile and surface cleanliness for the application of protective products.
• Check wet pool thickness.
• Check specification to ensure correct product and masking details and overcoat periods.
• Apply coatings use correct equipment.
• Demask steel after applying coating.
• Clean line and equipment.

Qualifications

One of the following -

• OPITO Level 1 Blaster\Sprayer
• Train the Painter - Protective Coatings Applicator
• ICATS Protective Coatings Applicator
• ECITB Skills Test Alternative / Skills Test Number: TICA-A01 / TICA-P01

Experience

• Minimum 2 years' experience in similar industry
