Job summary

Scantec Recruitment is seeking a Civil & Structural Engineer for nuclear and infrastructure projects in the North West, with an initial six-week North Wales placement and then Chester-based delivery. You will deliver design analyses, calculations, and specifications across the full project lifecycle, coordinating with BIM teams and clients.

The role requires a degree in Civil/Structural Engineering, 5+ years of relevant design experience, and proven capability in structural condition surveys.

Qualifications

• Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering is required.
• 5+ years civil/structural design experience.
• CRITICAL: Structural condition survey experience.
• Ability to work independently and lead small projects.
• CEng or IEng status is desirable.
• Willingness to travel and site visits.

Responsibilities

• Deliver small projects and sub-tasks from a technical perspective.
• Prepare preliminary and detailed design analyses for civil/structural works.
• Develop calculations, specifications and technical documentation.
• Conduct feasibility studies and prepare reference designs.
• Deliver value engineering solutions.
• Prepare proposals and technical reports for clients.
• Engage with BIM teams and other disciplines.
• Lead structural condition surveys and assessments.
• Support initial North Wales placement and Chester-based delivery.
