Job summary

Matchtech is seeking a Senior Engineer to join a growing civil and structural team delivering projects across nuclear, energy, water, transport and oil/gas sectors. You will lead small projects, prepare feasibility studies and detailed design solutions, and coordinate with BIM teams while supporting delivery with construction teams.

The role requires strong design, analysis and reporting skills and a willingness to travel to client sites across the North West and North Wales.

Qualifications

• Significant experience in civil and structural engineering design.
• Experience on nuclear, energy, infrastructure, or other highly regulated projects.
• Proven experience of structural condition surveys.
• Strong understanding of civil and structural design principles, analysis and calculations.
• Ability to prepare technical specifications, reports and design documentation.
• Confident communication with clients and multidisciplinary teams.
• Experience communicating designs to BIM teams and construction personnel.
• Willingness to travel and stay overnight at client sites across the North West and North Wales.

Responsibilities

• Lead small projects and technical work packages with minimal supervision
• Prepare feasibility studies, reference designs and detailed design solutions for civil and structural works
• Produce design analysis, calculations, specifications, technical reports and related documentation
• Carry out structural condition surveys and provide clear findings and recommendations
• Communicate designs effectively to BIM teams and coordinate with other engineering disciplines
• Work closely with construction teams to support safe and effective project delivery
• Communicate confidently with clients and contribute to technical proposals
• Identify and deliver value engineering solutions while supporting and guiding junior team members
