Job summary

AECOM in Warrington is recruiting a Civil & Structural Engineering Apprentice to work in our Nuclear Structures team from August 27 on a permanent basis, with a pathway to a Beng (Hons) Civil Engineering via Liverpool John Moores University.

You will be mentored on live projects, attend university one day per week for four years, and gain exposure to design documentation, feasibility studies and site visits, with a flexible hybrid work model and extensive career development support.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 GCSEs grade 4/C or above including English Language and Mathematics
• Three A-levels (ABB) with Mathematics at B and another science subject
• Alternative qualifications considered: IB 32 points with Math/Science, BTEC or T Level
• Preferred: full UK driving license and BPSS security clearance considerations

Responsibilities

• Support delivery of consultancy services on nuclear energy projects
• Assist in preparing structural designs for steel and concrete
• Help prepare design documentation (basis of design, method statements, specs)
• Develop understanding of regulated industries and safety cases
• Participate in risk assessments and production of drawings with the project team
• Assist in feasibility studies for nuclear energy projects with wider teams
• Attend site visits to construction sites as needed
• Attend university one day per week for four years to gain Beng (Hons) Civil Engineering
