The Portfolio Group, on behalf of a growing law firm in Manchester City Centre, is seeking a Newly Qualified Solicitor with Employment Law experience. You will manage your own caseload, advise businesses on a range of employment matters, and benefit from development opportunities within a commercially focused team.

This role offers exposure to diverse employment and commercial law matters, direct client contact, and opportunities for career progression within a supportive team.

Qualifications

• Newly qualified solicitor with experience in Employment Law.
• Experience in handling advisory work for business clients is preferred.
• Familiarity with contemporary UK employment legislation and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Provide commercially focused legal advice to business clients on a range of employment law matters.
• Advise on complex employment issues including disciplinary matters, grievances, discrimination, redundancies and TUPE.
• Draft, review and negotiate Settlement Agreements and associated legal documentation.
• Respond to pre-litigation correspondence and advise clients on potential legal risks.
• Gain exposure to wider commercial and civil law matters, including contractual disputes, restrictive covenants and data protection.
• Manage your own caseload, building strong relationships with clients and ensuring matters are progressed efficiently.
• Provide practical, solution‑focused advice via telephone and email.

You’ll take ownership of your own caseload, provide practical legal advice and benefit from ongoing professional development within a supportive and experienced team.

Key Responsibilities
