Job summary

BCL Legal is assisting a Newcastle-based award-winning commercial law firm to recruit an NQ Debt Recovery Solicitor to join its Commercial Debt Recovery team. The successful candidate will handle a broad range of debt recovery matters, including pre-action disputes, mediations, court applications, and defended claims, while working closely with an experienced team.

The role offers exposure to fast track and intermediate track cases, strong professional development, and a supportive environment.

Qualifications

• NQ solicitor with interest in commercial debt recovery.
• Solid grounding in commercial litigation.
• Strong client service and problem-solving abilities.

Responsibilities

• Manage complex pre-action disputes.
• Conduct mediations and settlement meetings.
• Draft and progress court applications.
• Manage a caseload of defended claims including small claims.
• Progress fast track and intermediate track matters.
• Draft witness statements and costs schedules.
• Instruct counsel and prepare cases for trial.
