Job summary

Filtronic plc, a world leader in microwave and millimetre wave electronics, seeks a Manufacturing Engineering Technician (NPI) to join the Manufacturing Engineering team at NETPark, Sedgefield. You will help introduce new products and processes into production, working with cross‑functional teams to ensure quality and efficiency.

Responsibilities include supporting builds, trials, process development, equipment prep and troubleshooting, and driving continuous improvement across manufacturing.

Qualifications

• Practical engineering aptitude and interest in manufacturing processes and product development.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical documentation.
• Understanding of quality standards and controlled manufacturing processes.
• Experience in a manufacturing, production or engineering environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide hands-on technical support for introducing new products into manufacturing.
• Support prototype builds, engineering builds and production trials.
• Assist with developing, improving and validating manufacturing processes and assembly methods.
• Prepare and maintain manufacturing equipment, tooling, fixtures and work instructions.
• Investigate manufacturing issues, support root cause analysis and implement corrective actions.
• Identify opportunities to improve product quality, manufacturing efficiency, yield and repeatability.
• Support engineering changes and ensure manufacturing documentation is accurate and up to date.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Production, Quality and Supply Chain teams.
