Job summary

Thermoteknix Systems Ltd in Cambridge is expanding its R&D to form an NPI team within Engineering, focusing on electronics for scalable manufacturing. You will apply DFMEA, PCBA design for manufacturability, and automation test development to improve production speed and quality.

You will collaborate with R&D, manufacturing, and quality teams to transition products from prototype to high‑quality production, ensuring robust electronic testing and validation across units.

Qualifications

• Degree in Electronic Engineering or related discipline.
• Experience with PCB CAD tools (e.g. Altium).
• Strong understanding of DFM/DFA/DFT.
• Experience transitioning products from prototype to production for low to medium volume.
• Knowledge of PCB assembly, electronic integration, and production test methods.
• Experience creating technical documentation and releasing changes.
• Experience cross-functional work in fast-paced engineering.

Responsibilities

• Lead electronics aspects of transitioning products from development to scalable manufacturing.
• Work with R&D, manufacturing, and quality to ensure designs are manufacturable.
• Define inspection and test strategies for PCB/electronic assemblies.
• Develop automated test equipment for PCB assemblies and products.
• Support NPI builds and root-cause investigations within ECN framework.
• Document production workflows and ensure repeatable manufacturing.
• Drive improvements to test processes and reduce build times.
• Contribute to the standards and processes of the new NPI team.
