Job summary

Platform Recruitment is seeking an experienced NPI Engineer for an electro-mechanical instruments company in Cambridgeshire. You will lead NPI activities from development through production, collaborating with design, manufacturing and quality teams to industrialise new products.

The role requires a degree in Mechanical or Electrical engineering, strong NPI/Manufacturing or Process Engineering experience, and a solid understanding of DFM/DFA; hands-on electromechanical assembly and test

Qualifications

  • Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or related engineering discipline (or equivalent experience).
  • Strong experience in NPI, Manufacturing Engineering, or Process Engineering.
  • Proven background taking products from development into production.
  • Solid understanding of DFM/DFA principles and manufacturing process development.
  • Hands-on experience with electromechanical assembly and test processes.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.

Responsibilities

  • Lead NPI activities from development through to production
  • Work closely with design, manufacturing, and quality teams to industrialise new products
  • Translate designs into robust, repeatable, and cost-effective manufacturing processes
  • Develop and validate assembly processes, tooling, fixtures, and test methods
  • Drive DFM/DFA and process risk assessments
  • Analyse build data and production metrics to improve yield and performance
