Job summary

This established Cambridge technology company is seeking an experienced NPI engineer to drive designs from concept to manufacture and lead process improvements, test strategy design, and documentation. You will manage prototype boards, evaluation, and ensure EMC/thermal compliance, working with manufacturing partners to streamline transitions to production.

The role requires hands-on electronics experience, a 1st or 2.1 degree in electronics, and UK work permission.

Qualifications

• A 1st or 2.1 degree in electronics or closely related discipline.
• Expertise with prototyping PCBAs and an understanding of EMC, thermal management, quality standards, and design for manufacture, and obsolescence.
• Prior experience of bringing new electronic products to manufacturing (preferably high speed or embedded).
• Hands-on electronic engineering skills, problem solving ability, and proficiency with Gerbers and BOMs.
• Full, existing UK work permission without time limit or the need for sponsorship.

As an NPI Engineer, you would be key to ensuring that new product concepts transition smoothly through to manufacturing. This will involve you working closely with colleagues and manufacturing partners, taking the lead on improving processes and designing test strategies, creating documentation, and managing the build of prototype boards, their evaluation, and ensuring compliance with industry standards.

You will need:
