Thermoteknix Systems Ltd in Cambridge is expanding its NPI team and seeking a software-focused engineer to lead automation and test efforts as products move from development to scalable manufacturing. You will collaborate with R&D, manufacturing and quality, applying your software knowledge to automated testing, validation, and process improvements that speed production.

Qualifications

• Degree in Software Engineering or related discipline.
• Experience developing software tools for production test and process automation.
• Strong experience in C#, using WPF and MVVM methodologies.
• Understanding of software release processes and configuration control.
• Ability to troubleshoot software issues with embedded hardware-integrated systems.
• Strong documentation skills and attention to detail.
• Experience documenting and releasing changes in a controlled change management system.

Responsibilities

• Support software and test design processes, applying DFT principles throughout the product lifecycle.
• Support software and test workstreams within NPI projects, ensuring build readiness and scalability.
• Define and implement firmware programming, product configuration, and version control in production builds.
• Develop and document automated test processes for new products and assemblies.
• Collaborate with mechanical and electronics engineers to design automated test systems.
• Drive improvements in manufacturing readiness by reducing test and build times.
• Provide hands-on support during NPI builds, troubleshooting software, automation, and hardware-integrated systems.
• Collaborate with quality to support non-conformance investigations and improvements.
• Contribute to development of new NPI team standards and processes.
