Job summary

Protocol Education is recruiting a Behaviour Mentor for a specialist SEMH school in Chigwell. This full-time role starts immediately and focuses on 1:1 and small group support to help pupils with complex SEMH needs access learning.

The ideal candidate will have experience in SEMH/SEND settings, demonstrate patience and resilience, and work well within a supportive staff team to build trust and improve emotional wellbeing.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting children or young people with SEMH, SEND, or challenging behaviour.
• Patience, resilience and ability to stay calm under pressure.
• Commitment to consistent boundaries and relationship-building.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 support to pupils with SEMH needs.
• Deliver small group support to promote learning.
• Help pupils manage emotions and stay engaged in class.
• Support pupils to achieve individual targets and goals.
• Create a safe, positive, and supportive learning environment.
• Collaborate with the school team to promote wellbeing.
