Job summary

RES Energy Services Limited is seeking an Accounting Manager for Northern Europe, Services. The role drives IFRS reporting, VAT compliance, and tax coordination across the region, reporting to the Regional Head of Accounting, Services.

You will ensure accurate monthly closings, statutory reporting and process improvements while collaborating with tax, treasury and auditors. The position requires office attendance three days per week and a strong focus on internal controls and regulatory

Qualifications

• 5+ years of accounting experience, including month-end closing and VAT returns in the UK and/or Ireland.
• Professional qualification: ACCA, CIMA, ACA/CA or equivalent, fully qualified or in final stages.
• Tax qualification (ATT, CTA or Irish Tax Institute) is advantageous.
• Good knowledge of IFRS and UK GAAP (FRS 102) and statutory reporting in UK & Ireland.
• Hands-on experience with UK VAT (Making Tax Digital, reverse charge, imports) and VAT returns.
• Knowledge of Irish VAT and RCT and ROS is valued; CT returns knowledge is a bonus.

Responsibilities

• Oversee statutory financial statements under IFRS and monthly group reporting.
• Prepare UK VAT returns and RTD/ROS submissions; manage VAT records.
• Coordinate Irish VAT3 returns and RTD; monitor RCT as principal contractor.
• Coordinate VAT & tax compliance with local advisors across Northern Europe.
• Support Group Tax with UK/Irish corporation tax returns and tax provisions.
• Oversee month-end close, intercompany accounting, and cash flow reporting.
