Job summary

RES is seeking an Accounting Manager to oversee accounting operations for RES Energy Services Limited and related entities in Northern Europe. You will lead statutory reporting, VAT compliance across UK and Ireland, and tax provisions, while coordinating audits and process improvements.

The role requires a professional accounting qualification and strong IFRS/UK GAAP knowledge, with UK VAT experience and ERP systems familiarity.

Qualifications

• At least 5 years of accounting experience including month-end closing, statutory reporting and VAT for UK/Ireland.
• Professional qualification required: ACCA, CIMA, ACA/CA (ICAEW/ICAS) or equivalent.
• A tax qualification (ATT, CTA or Irish Tax Institute) is an advantage.
• Strong knowledge of IFRS and UK GAAP (FRS 102).
• Hands-on UK VAT (Making Tax Digital, reverse charge, imports) and VAT returns experience.
• Knowledge of Irish VAT and RCT; ROS familiarity is valued; corp tax knowledge is a plus.
• Advanced Excel and ERP systems experience (SAP/IFS).
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving and organizational skills.
• Fluency in English; Spanish is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Prepare statutory financial statements under IFRS and monthly group reporting.
• Prepare UK VAT returns and MRT compliance; maintain VAT records.
• Coordinate Irish VAT3 returns and RTD; manage RCT via eRCT.
• Coordinate VAT/tax with local advisers for other Northern European countries.
• Support UK and Irish corporation tax returns; provide schedules and tax provisions.
• Coordinate external audits and respond to findings.
• Identify opportunities for process improvements in accounting processes.
• Ensure compliance with group policies and local regulations.
• Perform month-end close entries including payroll, provisions and depreciation.
• Reconcile intercompany transactions and balances with RES entities.
• Prepare bank reconciliations and monitor cash flow with Treasury.
