Senior Financial Accountant – Europe

📍 Location: Hemel Hempstead (2-3 days per week onsite – parking available)

We’re partnering with a global organisation to appoint a Senior Financial Accountant to join their European Finance team. This is a high-profile and varied role, offering exposure across multiple European entities and close collaboration with senior stakeholders.

You will act as a Finance Business Partner, driving insight, efficiency, and process improvement across the region. You’ll play a pivotal role in ensuring robust financial reporting, strengthening controls, and supporting ongoing transformation initiatives.

• Act as a Finance Business Partner to regional teams – reviewing and challenging results, preparing monthly revenue and cash forecasts, and supporting budgeting and planning cycles.
• Deliver accurate monthly reporting through consolidation systems, ensuring compliance with Group policies and IFRS standards.
• Support statutory reporting across multiple European entities, including preparation of draft statutory accounts, coordination with outsourced accountants, and liaison with tax advisors.
• Lead on process improvement and transformation projects focused on efficiency, automation, and enhanced control documentation.
• Support ERP roll-out initiatives across the finance function, contributing to system enhancement and standardisation.
• Prepare and review balance sheet reconciliations, control files, and various financial analyses for group and local reporting.
• Act as a key point of contact for external auditors, divisional finance, and local teams during interim and year-end reviews.

You’re a fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, or CIMA) with strong technical knowledge of IFRS (ideally IFRS 9, 15, and 16). You’ll have advanced Excel skills and the ability to manage and interpret large, complex datasets. Experience using or implementing SAP or another ERP system would be an advantage.

You’re analytical, commercially minded, and comfortable managing multiple priorities. A proactive problem-solver, you thrive on improving processes and driving operational efficiency. You enjoy working independently while collaborating across international teams and influencing senior stakeholders within a global environment.
