This is a hands‑on role suited to an engineer with strong experience in data centre environments, structured cabling and network connectivity, who is comfortable working in a highly controlled and customer‑focused environment.
You’ll be responsible for the day‑to‑day maintenance, installation and connectivity requirements across the data centres, ensuring infrastructure is delivered safely, accurately and in line with customer standards.
You’ll work closely with customers, technical teams and other engineers to deliver BAU activities, respond to faults and requests, and ensure all work is properly documented and communicated.
There is also an on‑call rota, shared between seven engineers, with two engineers on call each day. This includes early morning cover Monday–Friday and 24/7 cover at weekends and on Bank Holidays.
ECS, SSSTS or IOSH certification would be advantageous, as would manufacturer accreditations in structured cabling.
This is a role where attention to detail, reliability and safe working practices are essential. You’ll be working on critical infrastructure where quality and adherence to process matter.
A full driving licence and own vehicle are required, as you’ll need to travel between the Barnsley and Wakefield sites.
