Job summary

North is seeking a Data Centre BAU Engineer to support two sites in Barnsley and Wakefield. The role involves hands-on maintenance, installation and connectivity across critical data centre infrastructure, ensuring work meets customer standards.

You'll interact with customers and technical teams, respond to faults, manage change requests and contribute to on-call support. A full driving licence and own vehicle are required to travel between sites.

Qualifications

• Experience in data centre environments.
• Structured cabling experience (copper and fibre).
• Installing and connecting network equipment in data centres.
• Knowledge of data centre platforms (I-Series, Z-Series, SAN).
• Good IT skills including Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Perform day-to-day maintenance, installation and connectivity across data centres.
• Respond to faults and requests and document work.
• Ensure work is delivered safely and to customer standards.
• Maintain and update client IT systems and change records.
• Collaborate with customers and technical teams to deliver BAU activities.
