Job summary

Global Ardour Recycling in Crawley is recruiting a Non-Ferrous Scale Operator to identify, sort and process non-ferrous metals safely and efficiently on site.

You will work with yard colleagues, assist with weighing materials for suppliers and customers, operate plant equipment and FLT where trained, and uphold high health and safety standards in all weather conditions.

Qualifications

• Experience in scrap metal recycling.
• Knowledge of non-ferrous metals.
• Comfortable working in different aspects of a scrap yard.
• FLT experience or licence (desirable).
• Reliable with a strong work ethic and attention to detail.
• Health & safety conscious.

Responsibilities

• Identify, sort and process non-ferrous metals in accordance with company procedures.
• Customer service assisting with weighing materials and dealing with suppliers and public deliveries.
• Work closely with others, ensuring good communication and following instructions.
• Operate plant equipment and FLT (Forklift Truck) where trained.
• Maintain good housekeeping practices ensuring area is always clean and tidy.
• Adhere to all health and safety regulations and safe systems of work.
• Assist with general yard duties as required.
• Often working in various weather conditions.
• Work closely with the yard team and management to maintain high operational standards.

Location:Genesis House, Crawley, RH10 9PR

Hours: 42.75 hours per week (predominantly Mon – Fri with the requirement to be flexible over 7 days).

We are now looking to recruit Recycling Operatives (Non-Ferrous) to join our team at our Crawley site.

The Role

As a Non-Ferrous Scale Operator, you will play a key role in the daily operations of the yard, ensuring non-ferrous materials are correctly identified, sorted, and processed safely and efficiently.
