Job summary

Global Ardour Recycling is recruiting a Non-Ferrous Scale Operator at our Basildon site. You will identify, sort and weigh non-ferrous metals, operate plant equipment and forklift trucks where trained, and maintain safe, tidy yard operations.

We offer a full-time, permanent role with a starting salary around £30,000 per year, plus training, a pension, and career progression within a supportive team. The role requires flexibility with hours and weather, and a commitment to health and safety.

Qualifications

• Experience in scrap metal recycling.
• Knowledge of non-ferrous metals.
• Comfortable working across different areas of a scrap yard.
• Forklift truck experience or a valid licence (desirable).
• Reliable, hardworking with attention to detail.
• Health and safety conscious.

Responsibilities

• Identify, sort and process non-ferrous metals in accordance with procedures.
• Assist customers, suppliers and the public with weighing materials and deliveries.
• Work closely with the yard team, communicating effectively.
• Operate plant equipment and forklift trucks where trained.
• Maintain high standards of housekeeping and tidy work areas.
• Follow health and safety regulations and safe systems of work.
• Assist with general yard duties.
• Work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• Collaborate with management to maintain high operational standards.
