Job summary

Global Ardour Recycling is seeking a Recycling Operative for our Basildon site to support daily operations. The role is outdoors, involves heavy lifting and manual tasks, and requires adherence to health and safety policies.

Hours are 42.75 per week, Monday to Friday with Saturdays when required. Training will be provided, and there is free on-site parking along with benefits such as enhanced annual leave and a Health Cash Plan.

Responsibilities

• Depolluting End-of-Life Vehicles (ELVs).
• Safely removing and storing car and motorcycle parts.
• Removing tyres and batteries.
• Carrying out duties on the picking line.
• Operating plant, equipment and forklift trucks where qualified.
• Completing all required paperwork accurately.
• Inspecting and maintaining plant and equipment.
• Reporting faults or defects immediately.
• Working closely and communicating effectively with other teams.
• Following instructions and established site procedures.
• Complying with all environmental and health and safety policies.
• Maintaining a clean, tidy and safe working area.

The Role

We are looking for a reliable and hardworking Recycling Operative to support the day-to-day operations at our busy Basildon site.

This is a varied, hands-on role involving vehicle depollution, the safe removal and storage of vehicle parts, general recycling duties and the operation of plant and equipment where appropriately qualified. The role is primarily outdoors and involves manual work and heavy lifting.

Full training will be provided where required.

Previous experience in vehicle mechanics would be beneficial but is not essential.
