Job summary

NHS Northamptonshire Integrated Care Board is seeking a Non-Executive Member for Finance and Contracting to provide independent oversight, challenge and assurance to the Board and committees. You will help ensure financially responsible decision making in the context of public service priorities and health equity.

The role requires board-level leadership experience and a strong commitment to reducing inequalities, with living connections to the ICB footprint.

Qualifications

• Holding a UK-recognised accounting or finance qualification.
• Experience of financial leadership or oversight in a large, complex organisation.
• Understanding NHS financial frameworks, resource allocation, and the link between finance, contracting, performance and quality.
• Balance financial stewardship with enabling investment in new models of care.

Responsibilities

• Provide independent oversight and constructive challenge to the Board.
• Lead governance and scrutiny of financial and contracting matters.
• Promote informed, open and transparent decision-making.
• Collaborate with the Chair and Executives across the cluster.
• Support delivery of the 2025/26 plan and the transition of functions to NHS England.
