Job summary

Yorkshire Ambulance Service NHS Trust is seeking a PTS Ambulance Care Assistant to join our West Yorkshire team. The role involves transporting patients to and from appointments, assisting hospital discharges where appropriate, and delivering a compassionate, patient‑centred service across the region.

The position is full‑time, permanent, 37.5 hours per week, based across West Yorkshire. A full UK manual driving licence is essential.

Qualifications

• Level 2 entry requirement e.g. 3 GCSEs A*-C or NVQ level 2 or equivalent
• Evidence of ongoing continuous professional development

Responsibilities

• Transport patients to and from healthcare appointments
• Assist hospitals with patient discharge when fit
• Deliver compassionate, patient‑centred care during journeys across the Yorkshire region
• Occasionally work in a double crew for wider patient transport
• Maintain safety and passenger welfare during transports
