Job summary

Ford and Slater is seeking an HGV Technician for the night shift at our Birtley dealership. You will service and repair a variety of trucks, diagnose faults, and ensure compliance with manufacturer procedures.

Overtime is available at premium rates and there is extensive in-house and manufacturer training. Ideal candidates will have HGV/CV experience, a Level 3 CV maintenance qualification, and a full UK driving licence.

Qualifications

• Experience as HGV/CV technician or similar.
• Apprenticeship or Level 3 CV maintenance qualification.
• Ability to diagnose faults and follow procedures.
• Ability to carry out safety inspections and MOT prep.
• Full UK driving licence.
• Strong knowledge of manufacturer procedures.

Responsibilities

• Servicing and maintaining trucks and vehicles.
• Carry out safety inspections and prep for MOT.
• Diagnose faults and perform repairs.
• Road test vehicles when required.
• Complete paperwork accurately.
