Job summary

Slater Birtley is seeking an HGV Technician for night shifts at our Birtley dealership. You will service and repair a range of trucks, carry out safety inspections and diagnostics, and prepare vehicles for MOTs.

Training is provided to develop skills with in-house and manufacturer programmes. The role requires Level 3 qualifications in CV maintenance, a full UK driving licence, and a proactive approach to paperwork and customer service.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Technician/Mechanic in HGV or related sectors.
• Qualified to Level 3 in Commercial Vehicle Maintenance and repair.
• Excellent knowledge of manufacturer procedures and fault diagnosis.
• Able to carry out safety inspections and prepare vehicles for MOTs.
• Accurate completion of job cards and service records; good paperwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Servicing and maintaining a wide range of Trucks and Vehicles.
• Carry out safety inspections and prepare vehicles for MOTs.
• Fault diagnostics and repairs according to manufacturer procedures.
• Road test vehicles when required and within license limits.
