Job summary

Ford and Slater are seeking an HGV Technician for night shifts at our Birtley dealership. You will service and repair trucks, perform safety inspections, and prepare vehicles for MOTs, with training and development opportunities provided.

The role requires a Level 3 qualification in Commercial Vehicle Maintenance, a full UK driving licence, and the ability to work to manufacturer procedures. Overtime and benefits are offered as part of a comprehensive package.

Qualifications

• Qualified to Level 3 (C&G, NVQ or equivalent) in Commercial Vehicle Maintenance and repair.
• Excellent fault diagnosis and safety inspection skills.
• Full UK driving licence and own tool kit.
• Experience as HGV/CV/LGV/PSV or related sector preferred.

Responsibilities

• Servicing and maintaining trucks and vehicles to manufacturer procedures.
• Carry out safety inspections and prepare vehicles for MOTs.
• Diagnose faults and complete job cards and service records.
• Assist with breakdowns when required.
