Job summary

Ford and Slater is recruiting an HGV Technician for the Birtley dealership. The role covers servicing and repairing trucks, performing safety inspections and diagnostics, and preparing vehicles for MOTs on a night shift (Tue–Fri, 19:00–07:00).

Full UK driving licence and a Level 3 CV maintenance qualification are preferred. Company offers in-house and manufacturer training, pension, life insurance, cycle-to-work, holiday entitlement, and an Employee Assistance Program.

Qualifications

• Qualified to Level 3 (C&G, NVQ or equivalent) in Commercial Vehicle Maintenance and repair.
• Apprenticeship or formal training completed.
• Experience as an HGV/Commercial Vehicle technician.

Responsibilities

• Service and repair a range of trucks and vehicles.
• Carry out safety inspections and MOT preparation.
• Diagnose faults and perform road tests as required.
