Electrician (Nightshift) - Glasgow City Centre

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Electrician to join the estates team of our prestigious client in Glasgow City Centre. This is an exciting opportunity to work within a dynamic and supportive environment, contributing to the ongoing maintenance and development of our campus facilities.

Salary: £40,000 per annum

Working Hours: Sunday to Thursday, 10pm to 6.30am with 1-hour lunch break; followed by 2 weeks of night shifts and 2 weeks of day shifts (8am to 4.30pm, Monday to Friday)

Key Responsibilities
  • Carrying out Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) schedules across campus.
  • Responding promptly to electrical breakdowns and faults.
  • Conducting minor installation works, including containment systems, cabling (lighting, small power, emergency lighting), etc.
  • Performing routine maintenance on main and sub-main switchboards and electrical distribution networks.
  • Diagnosing and repairing faults in electrical systems, including Heating & Ventilation (H&V) control systems.
  • Testing electrical installations and systems in accordance with regulations.
  • Completing remedial works following inspections or faults.
  • Making minor alterations to fire alarm and intruder alarm systems.
  • Participating in the emergency call-out rota.
  • Ensuring all work complies with health and safety legislation and departmental procedures.
  • Attending relevant training and development activities.
  • Performing other duties as reasonably expected.
Ideal Candidate
  • Proven experience in electrical maintenance, installation, and fault-finding (18th Edition preferred).
  • Understanding of health and safety regulations.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Commitment to high standards of workmanship and service.
