Job description

This is a remote role with monthly travel to Scotland.

As Electrical Design Engineer, you will be an integral part of the Engineering Team, managing the electrical engineering aspects of clean and wastewater projects within a capital delivery works program. You will work within a multi-disciplinary team on projects primarily focused on water and wastewater M&E capital maintenance and growth.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assisting Project Managers with design and project engineering deliverables during the Pre–Construction phase.
• Attending and contributing to internal and external design review and progress meetings.
• Participating in design coordination with other engineering disciplines and professionals.
• Producing engineering outputs such as cable calculations, cable schedules, electrical schematic diagrams, and documentation.
• Creating engineering drawings, including electrical drawings, containment and cabling routes, and system layout drawings.
• Reviewing specifications and designs against industry standards.
• Producing engineering reports, feasibility studies, risk assessments, and method statements.

What You'll Bring:

• Qualifications: Electrical Degree / HND / HNC or equivalent in engineering or related discipline.
• Experience: Design development experience in clean/wastewater non–infrastructure or any utility industry.
• Driving License: Clean driving license.
• Professional Status: Chartered or Incorporated (CEng/IEng) or working towards.
• Skills: Confidence in mentoring, guiding, and providing technical advice to junior staff. Proven ability to work within a team environment and meet project deadlines.
