Job summary

Mitie Group plc is seeking a Catering Assistant to deliver excellent service in a busy site near Burton upon Trent. You will prepare dining areas, serve meals, clean areas, and handle cash in line with SLA and health and safety standards. The role is permanent, full-time, 31 hours per week with a Sunday-Thursday night shift (£13.49/hour).

• Previous catering experience in a similar environment (desirable).
• Basic Food Hygiene and Health & Safety certificates (training provided if not held).
• Adequate numeracy, literacy, and communication skills.
• Passion for customer service and ability to work independently and in a team.
• Adaptable, detail-oriented, and confident with strong organisational and time management skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain dining and service areas, including furniture, trolleys, and cleaning equipment.
• Serve food in correct portions and wash dishes, cutlery, and catering equipment.
• Clean all catering areas daily and follow health and safety standards.
• Handle cash collection, banking, and maintain records and procedures.
