Job summary

Gist is hiring a Warehouse Section Leader for the Lenziemill night shift. You will lead 11–13 colleagues, ensure the daily plan is delivered safely and efficiently, and balance people leadership with operational delivery.

You’ll coach, develop and appraise staff, monitor KPIs, and manage attendance and wellbeing. The role is nights, 20:00–06:00, four nights out of seven with some weekend work.

Qualifications

• Experience leading teams in busy operational environments.
• Strong people management and coaching skills.
• Ability to manage performance, attendance and day-to-day people matters.
• Experience with employee relations issues and difficult conversations.
• Organisational skills and ability to handle multiple priorities.
• Calm, practical approach to solving problems.

Responsibilities

• Lead and motivate a team of 11–13 warehouse colleagues across a night shift.
• Own a specific operational area and ensure daily plan is delivered safely and efficiently.
• Set clear expectations and provide regular feedback to improve performance.
• Monitor service levels and KPIs, taking action to maintain performance.
• Coach and develop staff, identify training needs and support inductions.
• Manage attendance, wellbeing and returns-to-work discussions.
• Support employee relations matters and escalate where needed.
• Prioritise competing demands and respond to operational challenges.
• Identify risks, resolve issues and escalate safety concerns.
• Promote health and safety and a safe, compliant environment.
• Collaborate with other leaders to drive strong shift performance.
