Job summary

Gist Limited, part of the M&S Group, is seeking a Night Warehouse Section Leader in Hemel Hempstead (Maylands). You will manage a hands-on warehouse operation, lead a team, coach colleagues and drive safety, quality and productivity across shifts from 18:00 to 06:00.

Salary up to £35,500 plus a £4,500 Night Shift Premium, 40 hours per week, 4 on 4 off. Key duties include delivering daily operational plans, developing staff, maintaining high safety standards, monitoring KPIs and supporting

Qualifications

• Proven warehouse supervisory or team-leader experience.
• Experience leading operational teams within a busy warehouse/logistics environment.
• Ability to coach colleagues, provide feedback and build high-performing teams.
• Strong communication and organisational skills under pressure.
• Proactive problem solving and continuous improvement mindset.
• Good understanding of warehouse operations and KPIs.
• Experience using WMS or similar systems.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team within your designated warehouse area to deliver safe, efficient daily plans.
• Provide direction, coaching and regular feedback to support performance and development.
• Create a positive, inclusive working environment where colleagues can excel.
• Monitor performance and deliver key service, productivity and quality KPIs.
• Support induction of new colleagues and ensure mandatory training is completed.
• Conduct Return to Work interviews and support colleague wellbeing.
• Promote a strong safety culture and ensure health and safety compliance.
• Respond quickly to operational challenges to keep the operation running smoothly.
• Encourage continuous improvement by acting on colleague feedback.
• Collaborate with other teams to ensure excellent customer service and operational excellence.
