Job summary

Fowler Welch, part of the Culina Group, seeks a Warehouse Shift Manager to support the Operations Manager in day-to-day warehouse running and ensure Health & Safety and KPI targets are met. This full-time role operates 4 on, 4 off nights from 18:00 to 06:00 in a UK FMCG warehouse environment.

The role requires experience managing large teams, strong H&S knowledge, and familiarity with WMS systems. Competitive benefits and career development opportunities are offered.

Qualifications

• Operational management experience within a FMCG warehouse environment.
• Experience leading a large team.
• Knowledge of warehouse health & safety legislation, including investigations.
• Experience with WMS systems and data interrogation.

Responsibilities

• Lead and motivate the shift team to meet productivity and KPI targets.
• Ensure health & safety compliance and proper paperwork.
• Maintain quality standards and audit readiness.
• Deliver regular briefings and gather team input for improvements.
• Oversee Goods Inwards to ensure quick, damage-free receipts and stock availability.
• Plan manpower, overtime, and agency staffing for efficient shift operation.
• Conduct disciplinary/grievance interviews per policy.
• Monitor attendance and manage return-to-work interviews.
• Provide feedback on performance and development needs.
• Support management with ad-hoc warehouse duties.
